Nero Inc. Inc. has joined the affiliate program in the Share Results Network. Nero products, including award-winning Nero 9 suite, will offer affiliates up to 20 % revenue share on sales.

MONTREAL, QC. June 17, 2009 –The Share Results affiliate network today announced that Nero Inc. has joined the network to offer a new affiliate program. The award-winning Nero software products, including Nero 9, the user-friendly and intuitive software which allows users to rip, burn, copy, share, and enjoy music, photos, and videos; and Nero Move it, the easy transcoding solution to enjoy your digital content on iPod®, PSP®, or upload to online communities, will now be offered with special affiliate revenue share opportunities. Like most people, I like to share my interests with others. So I started pushing some of the Share Results team on the idea of video blogging. Sooner or later, push came to shove, and I finally convinced Le and Kunal to sit down together in front of the camera.

We chatted a while, but this is just a bit of an introduction. I wanted everyone to get to know them a bit before I start posting their actual thoughts on affiliate marketing and new media.

Another of the interesting people we got to meet at Affiliate Summit West 2009 was Wade Tonkin of GTO Management and Christian Affiliate Marketing Association. We sat down with Wade to chat about the industry, and one of the many things that we discussed was upcoming affiliate marketing trends in 2009. In this clip, Wade discusses how he sees a lot of near-future potential for both mobile and video in the affiliate marketing space.

While affiliates continue to look for ways to ad value to a merchants marketing campaign, they are often hampered by a networks limitations on what linking and tracking options are available. Most affiliates find they can only innovate as fast as their network partners allow. While video has been hot for a while and some merchants have had click trackable video available for a couple of years, it’s still not easy to support directly within most networks. Most solutions to date have used a work around system to avoid the complications or added expense of using an affiliate networks options.

So it’s great to see Shareasale once again step into the breach and release a video tool set to help merchants create and deploy videos for their affiliates to use.

The present system provides a way for merchants to set up videos in Shareasale, but it looks like there will be a system to support affiliate created videos too!

The class action filed against ValueClick subsidiaries CJ.com and BeFree has taken a new turn with ValueClick proposing a $1,000,000 settlement fund to be distributed to members of the class action suit.

The lawsuit was originally filed against CJ after the legal team for the class action determined that CJ allowed software publishers to highjack commissions due to other publishers using methods including downloadable toolbars, purchase helpers and other hidden software.

Terms of the settlement as outlined on http://www.cjsettlement.com are not only financial, but force CJ to have independent reviews and audits done on their practices & systems for managing network quality.

A settlement of this nature, if accepted by the courts, opens the doors to further similar class actions against other networks. I expect to see more lawsuits being filed against both CPA and Affiliate networks.

Interestingly enough an excerpt of the settlement agreement states:

“After deducting for payment of any money awarded by the Court in connection with representation of the Class in this litigation and settlement (for example, Incentive Awards made to the named plaintiffs, consulting fees, certain costs of class settlement administration, and related expenses), the balance of the Common Fund shall be allocated 70% to the Publishers and 30% to the Advertisers in a Publisher Fund and an Advertiser Fund.”

A review of the attorney’s fees, administration fees and other costs show that the biggest winners will indeed be the lawyers that filed the claim. They stand to get up to $500,000 of the settlement.

CJ proposes $1 Million settlement over Malware Class Action

As an affiliate marketer, you would have heard of, or interacted
with affiliate networks such as ClickBank, Amazon.com,
